CCC's three child therapy specialists possess deep child therapy experience. Aside from their exceptional education, training and experience, they are also members of a cohesive and collaborative treatment team, which is overseen by CCC's Clinical Director.
CCC's child therapists are trained and certified in a wide-array of child therapy techniques, some of which include: Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral, Role-Playing, Art Therapy, Family Therapy, and Distress Tolerance Skill Building. These techniques are research based and have been proven to be effective as the gold standard for solving some of the most difficult child and teen related psychological challenges.
The CCC therapists work with children as young as three years old. Problem areas include: Impulse Control Deficit, Autism Spectrum, Sensory Integration, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity, Communication Disorders, Major Depression, Developmental Delays, Selective Mutism, Separation Anxiety, Childhood Anxiety, Rumination, Social Communication and Attachment Disorders.
CCC child therapists use specific strategies and tools to reach into their client's world to better understand what they cannot say or are unable to say. Some of the tools include therapeutic games, traditional toys and games, art supplies and sensory tools including rice trays, fidgets, mind jars, puppets, dools and doll house play. Some provide evaluations and assessments for executive functioning, depression, anxiety, social skills and ADHD.
Our child therapists not only connect and form highly therapeutic relationships with their younger clients, they also facilitate a bond with their parents. By including the parents in the treatment process, they maximize the potential for positive outcomes. Whenever possible, they provide weekly updates via email, phone and/or in person.
The therapists establish communication with other professionals associated with their client's care and well-being. They coordinate services so that the additional skills of other professionals working with their clients can be included or considered in their treatment approach.
